John’s journey in the industry began in 1984 as a surveyor assistant with a small paving company in Concord, Ontario. His rapid ascent to site superintendent and estimator for road reconstruction projects in the Greater Toronto Area set the foundation for a distinguished career. In 1987, John introduced electronic estimating to the industry, transforming how projects were managed at a time when most contractors still relied on pen and paper. His expertise was integral to major infrastructure projects, including managing asphalt crews and plants during the original construction of the Highway 407. His experience also extends internationally, having worked on a toll highway in Israel and on numerous design-build projects across Ontario, New Brunswick, Alberta, and British Columbia.

John’s extensive travels across Canada have seen him involved in bidding and project execution in Alberta, British Columbia, the Northwest Territories, Saskatchewan, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia, giving him deep insight into regional practices and challenges.
